FAQ and About The Sacramento Resource Directory.
1. One of the main features of our database that we publish to a website
and The Directory, is that we include any subsidized (free) and sliding-scale resources. This type of compilation offers the most all-inclusive directory of resources, plus it offers the collaboration of community-based groups that do not comprise 501c (3) status to maintain an important listing in the community.
2. Each subject of resources is listed categorically from in-crisis to self-sufficiency. For example, Emergency shelters, Transitional housing, and income-based housing.
3. Individual subjects of resources are organized beginning with the resource offering the least restrictive eligibility first. For example, a resource that does not charge a fee and/or presumed not to have a waiting list would be listed first.
4. The best way to use The Directory is begin with the first resource listed on top of the category and contact each one down the list until the right help is located. This eliminates frustration, and provides a person with the chance to focus on what they "can do".
5. Below each resource is a description of services written in readily understood words, or what is called "know and go" details.
6. Updated - Each year the entire directory is re-printed because many of the resources have changed the details of their information. In December... every phone number is called, address confirmed and description verified.
7. The Directory is 8.5 x 11 for a "Photo Copy" friendly format.
8. Dynamic content - Resources such as free family events, job postings, images and Internet only resources are not included within The Directory.
9. A Zip code, RT Bus and Light Rail maps are included.
